About the Library

In this Research Guide, you will learn about the library and all services provided.

Study Rooms and Areas

Single Study Rooms

To create an environment that meets the study and work needs of our campus community, we have separated the library into designated areas:

First Floor

The first floor of the library has been designated as an Open Study Area.

  • Small groups may use the tables provided for study or the group study rooms
  • Individuals may use the tablet chairs
  • A level of low-volume conversation should be observed

Second Floor

The second floor of the library has been designated as a Quiet Study Area.

  • Individual study rooms and carrels are available throughout the floor
  • Small groups of no more than two may also use the individual rooms
  • Larger groups should use the group study rooms

When using the Quiet Study Area, you are encouraged to be as quiet as possible while you work. Please respect others using the designated area by keeping unnecessary noise to a minimum. If you need to have a conversation or play audio or video material during your study time, please do so in closed study rooms, use headphones, or move to other places not designated as a Quiet Study Area.

Students not adhering to Quiet Study Area regulations will be asked to lower their voice or to relocate to the first floor.

If you need assistance with using or accessing a study room, inquire for help from a librarian at the Research Information Desk.

Study Areas

Study areas are on the first floor in the reference area, the periodicals area, and against the back wall. Additional individual study areas (carrels) are available throughout the 2nd floor.
