The library has three services that students will use in their PGCC courses:
Circulation Services is located on the first floor of Accokeek Hall.
Services include:
Students can borrow library materials and use course reserve materials with a current validated Prince George's Community College photo identification card.
The Research Information Desk is located near the front door and is staffed by a professionally trained librarian all hours that the library is open. The librarians answer questions and offer direct personal assistance on using the Library's electronic and print sources to find information for research and study.
Prince George's Community College Library provides access to and instruction for research materials required by students, staff, and faculty. With a large collection of items covering broad subject areas of scholarly research, the librarians are equipped to instruct you in finding what you need.
Librarians at the Research Information Desk can teach you how to access and effectively use the variety of materials in the library as well as in the research databases. If you need an extensive amount of help, librarians will provide one-on-one instructional tutoring for students doing research.
Research Assistance is available online too, the Library has a virtual reference service, students can chat, email, text, and zoom with librarians.
The PGCC Library offers over 30 computers for use by students and other library patrons. These computers are located on the first floor near the information service desk. The computers provide access to all PGCC electronic resources, including the Library's catalog, e-books, and research databases. Users will need to log in with their Owl Link ID and password. Library staff at a service desk may login patrons if ID and password are not available.
Computer use is first-come-first-served. There is no sign-up or time limit; however, priority is given to those who need use of the computers for research purposes as opposed to recreational use.
The library has group study rooms on the first floor and individual study rooms on the second floor. There is additional study space and carols on the first floor.
