This guide provides information about library services available to PGCC faculty.

Circulation Services

Circulation Services is located on the first floor of Accokeek Hall. Services include:

  • circulating books
  • multimedia
  • reserve materials
  • issuing photo identification cards
  • assisting with the photocopying/scanning equipment

Multimedia Collections


The multimedia collections (DVDs) are located on the first floor of the library. Faculty may check them out for Prince George's Community College instructional purposes only.

Circulation Facts


  • limited to five (5) check out items per day and a maximum number of ten (10) 
  • loaned for three (3) weeks with one renewal
  • a Prince George's Community College photo identification card is needed to check out materials
  • lost materials: the borrower must pay a replacement cost of $50.00, plus a processing fee of $15.00

 

 

Photo Identification Cards


Where to get your Photo ID: 

Photo IDs for college employees are processed at the Circulation Services Desk, on the first floor of the library. (Accokeek Hall, Room A-116)

Hours: 

Monday - Thursday: 10 am to 5 pm
Friday: 10 am to 3 pm

There is a $10.00 replacement fee for lost or stolen cards.

Other locations where you can have your photo ID issued are: (Check with the offices for their hours.)

  • Largo Campus, Bladen Hall 126
  • Andrews Air Force Base 1413 Arkansas Road, Room 111 (Restricted to students enrolled at this site)
  • Laurel College Center, Room 205
  • University Town Center, Room 245

Reserves


Library and personal materials, print and audiovisual, may be placed on reserve in the library for student use. The use of materials on reserve is for within the library only. The reserved item will not be allowed to be checked out. However, students may photocopy or scan materials.

Please observe these two requirements:

  • Materials to be put on reserve must be brought to the Circulation Desk (x0475) at least 48 hours before the students are to begin using them.
  • Photocopies of articles, or other loose pages, must be in a binder, available from department supplies.
