Add Library Resources to a Canvas course

ProQuest LTI Tool 


The LTI tool for ProQuest allows instructors to add resources as documents or resource links.

In step 2, the instructor will need to choose external tool from the drop-down menu. The next step is to select ProQuest Platform to search and add an eBook, Article, Streaming video to the course. 

 
Steps to add ProQuest resources 
Step 1 - Open a Canvas course and click + in the Module header
Step 2  - Select external tool; choose ProQuest from the external tool list 
 
 
Step 3 - Search for a resource from ProQuest by title or keyword.

You can limit searches to full-text and peer reviewed items by marking the boxes under the search bar.  

 
Step 4 - Choose a resource and click select this document button  

 

Step 5 - On the Add Item to box, click Add Item button

 

Add a ProQuest resource to a course


Instructors can add a library resource using the LTI Tool from the Rich Text editor in Canvas. Use the apps button to search African-American history and add a library digital resource. 

Note: The LTI tool from the Rich Text Editor only creates a persistent link to the resource in ProQuest.

 
Steps 1 & 2 - In the Rich Text Editor, click the Apps icon and choose ProQuest Platform from the Apps list

 Repeat steps 3, 4, and 5 listed above to add a persistent link for a ProQuest resource.
